Old communication box at St Clair Ave West and Weston Rd remains despite all the construction activity.

 

In the north east corner of of the Delta Bingo lot at St Clair Ave West and Weston Rd there remains a old communication box that has gone through many uses in the past decades.

All around it for the past few years the st Clair expansion construction has buffeted it with piles of old large water pipes and concrete debris, yet it still remains. Although the door has been pulled off since early November of 2010.

11 DIVISION Police Move photo update

When we last checked in on this school near the corner of Davenport Rd and Old Weston Rd the demo work, was only beginning to start with surveying being done.

Now it's looking like the finish line for the school  is in sight, though it doesn't seem as though the big machines will be arriving in the next month if Priestly Demolition Inc follows it;s normal timeline  of removing the building inter 1st of salvageable materials . As we noted a year ago, the school is being  demolished to make way for the development of the new police 11 division station.

The new value is  installed, and the old value pictured above was removed about 3 weeks ago and laid at the back of the bingo hall for a few days, but now has gone. sign...

Flash Butt Welding where...

The surfaces of the workpieces are positioned end-to-end. As a rule, flash-butt welding is subdivided into preheating, flashing and upsetting. Preheating is carried out under low welding pressure. Once the welding joint is heated, flashing commences and joint surface material is burnt off, resulting in even joint surface. After arriving at preset flashing loss, upsetting commences, resulting in an irregular "fin" on the surface of the upset metal consisting of molten and oxidized material.Examples of flash-butt weldable items: rod stock, chains, rails and pipes.

a) Construction of a raised, mountable trackbed in the centre of St. Clair Avenue West, between signalized intersections, with curbs as required, for the exclusive use of public transit vehicles and emergency service vehicles, including Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services;

 

b) Widening portions of the pavement up to 2.8 metres, on the north and south sides of St. Clair Avenue West between Old Weston Road and Gunns Road/Old Stock Yards Road; and, widening the pavement up to 7 metres for the section on the south side of St. Clair Avenue West between Old Weston Road to just west of Old Weston Road...
